Abstract
Three new diterpenoid lactones, odolide iso-odolide and hydroxy odolid e, isolated from the roots of Gynocardia odorata have been characteriz ed as ent-kaur-15(16)-en-19 --> 20-olide, ent-kaur-16(17)-en-19 --> 20 -olide and 16 alpha-hydroxy-ent-kauran-19 --> 20-olide on the basis of spectral and chemical analysis. The higher terpenoids isolated were o dolactone, trichadenic acid-A and beta-sitosterol.
