Abstract
The breeding numbers and habitat choice of Red-footed Falcons were stu died in the Sivash, Ukraine in May 1992. About 40% of the area and 32. 5 km of hedgerows were counted. Red-footed Falcons were breeding dispe rsed and solitary or in small colonies of less than five pairs. Most p airs were breeding in hedgerows with on average 1-2 pairs per km. A to tal of 250 to 500 pairs is estimated to breed in the Sivash area.
