J. Stejskal et M. Griga, COMPARATIVE-ANALYSIS OF SOME ISOZYMES AND PROTEINS IN SOMATIC AND ZYGOTIC EMBRYOS OF SOYBEAN (GLYCINE MAX[L] MERR), Journal of plant physiology, 146(4), 1995, pp. 497-502
Isozyme systems of peroxidase (E.C. 1.11.1.7), esterase (3.1.1.2), aci
d phosphatase (E.C. 3.1.3.2) and total protein composition have been s
tudied in soybean somatic embryos that were induced on immature zygoti
c embryos or were maintained as long-term (repetitive) embryogenic cul
ture on MSB-medium with 10 mu M 2,4-D. Protein and isozyme profiles we
re compared to those of zygotic embryos and seeds of soybean. Peroxida
se isozyme spectra found in callus and in somatic embryos were much mo
re diversified in contrast to low peroxidase activity and poor isopero
xidase spectrum in zygotic embryos. Isoesterase as well as acid phosph
atase profiles of the somatic embryos are very similar to those of zyg
otic embryos, isoesterase spectrum of the callus differs qualitatively
from the spectrum of the somatic embryos. Some typical soybean seed p
roteins (subunits of storage proteins, trypsin inhibitor) are synthesi
zed in the somatic embryos.
