Abstract
Experiments have revealed evidence for grain-boundary sliding and acro ss-column cracking in columnar fresh-water ice loaded under uniaxial c ompression at - 10 degrees C (T-h = 0.96) at strain rates of 10(-4) an d 10(-6)s(-1).
