Abstract
The preparative synthetic routes to tritylcyclopentadienyl metal deriv atives of sodium, tin and titanium have been studied. Molecular struct ures of Ph(3)CC(5)H(4)SnMe(3) (3) and Ph(3)CC(5)H(4)TiCl(3) (4) have b een defined. The Cl-Ph agostic interaction in the structure of 4 provi des an unprecedented low reactivity of 4 to nucleophiles of different natures.
