Lx. Song et al., PREPARATION AND PROPERTIES OF INCLUSION COMPOUND OF CYCLOPENTADIENYLMANGANESE TRICARBONYL COMPLEX WITH A BETA-CYCLODEXTRIN DIMER, Journal of organometallic chemistry, 498(1), 1995, pp. 1-5
The host-guest inclusion compound of cyclopentadienylmanganese tricarb
onyl (guest) with beta-cyclodextrin dimer (host) bridged with two 1,2-
diaminoethane has been prepared as the first example of cyclodextrin d
imer inclusion compounds with organotransition metal complexs and char
acterized by elemental analysis and IR spectra as well as thermogravim
etric analysis. The manganese complex included in the dimer is thermal
ly more stable than the free complex. H-1 NMR spectroscopy has establi
shed that the cyclopentadienylmanganese complex and the dimer form an
inclusion compound in aqueous solution with a stability constant (beta
(2), 195 mol(-2)l(2)) at 22 degrees C. The spectroscopic studies and t
he results of elemental analysis revealed that stoichiometry (1:2, hos
t:guest) of the inclusion compound in water is identical to its stoich
iometry in solid state.
