A. Mohammad et al., SELECTIVE SEPARATION OF P-DIMETHYLAMINOBENZALDEHYDE FROM SOME SECONDARY AND TERTIARY-AMINES, JPC. Journal of planar chromatography, modern TLC, 8(3), 1995, pp. 216-218
The chromatographic behavior of aromatic amines has been studied on pl
ain and mixed adsorbent layers, e.g. silica gel, alumina, cellulose, a
nd a 4:1 mixture of cellulose and silica gel, using various aqueous an
d nonaqueous mobile phases. The proposed method is simple, rapid, repr
oducible, and applicable to the identification and separation of aroma
tic amines over a wide range of concentration. It is specially suitabl
e for selective separation of p- dimethylaminobenzaldehyde from p- dim
ethylaminocinnamaldehyde, diphenylamine, and carbazole.
