Abstract
The analytical derivation of the required precision for the analogue-t o-digital converter in discrete multitone transceivers is presented. T he obtained closed-form expression, that includes all relevant system parameters, directly relates the required ADC resolution with the maxi mum allowed number of bits allocated to the DMT subchannels.
