Abstract
A polarisation independent 1 x 4 phased-array wavelength demultiplexer is demonstrated using 1.1 mu m quaternary ridge waveguides. The avera ge crosstalk is 14 dB for a 2 nm channel spacing. Zero birefringence i s obtained around 1,55 mu m and about 0.05 nm birefringence is obtaine d around 1.31 mu m.
