The Raman and ATR FT-IR spectra of rabbit liver metallothionein(MT) in
the Tris-HCl buffer solution at pH 8.0 were observed and used to stud
y the conformation in aqueous solution. The characteristic vibration f
requencies of MT were identified and the results indicate that the met
al-bound MT (hole-MT) consists of a large number of beta-turn of type
II and a small number of beta-turn of type III.
