Abstract
The difference between saturable binding of [H-3]emonapride (to D-2, D -3 and D-4 receptors) and [I-125]epidepride (to D-2 and D-3 receptors) was used to determine dopamine D-4 receptors in putamen taken post-mo rtem from antipsychotic-treated schizophrenic subjects and matched con trols. Despite an overall increase in D-2/D-3 receptor density in schi zophrenia, reflecting prior antipsychotic drug treatment, striatal D-4 receptors were not significantly detectable in either controls or sch izophrenic subjects.
