Abstract
Diethylphosphite reacted with 1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluorobutane-2-one (1) a nd 1,1,1-trifluorobutane-2-one (2) to give the alpha-hydroxyphosphonat es, 3 and 4, Diethyl(trimethylsilyl)phosphite formed the corresponding trimethylsiloxy derivatives, 5 and 6. Triethylphosphite and 1 were fo und to furnish a mixture of phosphate 7 obtained also from compound 3 in a base catalyzed rearrangement, and 1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluoro-2-ethoxy -2-butene (8).
