Abstract
The (+/-)-Bicyclo[2.2.1]heptan-2-one ((+/-)-Norcamphor) 1 and 8-Oxatri cyclo[5.2.1.0(2,6)]decane 3 react with carbon disulfide, strong base a nd an alkylating agent in dipolar aprotic solvents giving racemic mixt ures of 3- or 9-dialkylthiomethylene compounds 2a-e or 4a-d, respectiv ely.
