Abstract
Recent developments in research on polyimides for high temperature app lications have led to the synthesis of many new polymers. Among the cr iteria that determines their thermal oxidative stability, isothermal a ging is one of the most important. Isothermal aging studies require th at many experimental factors are controlled to provide accurate result s. In this article we describe a statistical plan that compares the is othermal stability of several polyimide resins, while minimizing the v ariations inherent in high-temperature aging studies.
