Allium oreophilum starts to produce flower primordia just before wilti
ng and continue this process during summer rest period. Flower differe
ntiation is promoted by temperatures of 10-15 degrees C as compared wi
th lower or higher temperatures. After bud formation, there is a low t
emperature requirement: at least 4-6 weeks at 5 degrees C for bulblet
formation and 12-15 weeks for elongation of leaves and flower stalks.
