Abstract
This paper describes an inductive magnetization sensor, designed to me asure thin superconducting films (of order 3000 Angstrom) in very stro ng magnetic fields. For magnetic fields in the range 250-500 kG, the s ensitivity of the probe is 10(-2) emu. Accuracy and high sensitivity w ere obtained by combining a sample extraction system, vibration isolat ion, and an inductive sensor with optimized flux coupling geometry. Th e magnetic flux coupling to the sensor was verified to exceed 70%, bot h by calculation and experimental calibration. (C) 1995 American Insti tute of Physics.
