F. Lindenberger et al., SIMPLE TECHNIQUES FOR THE GENERATION OF ULTRASHORT, SYNCHRONIZED ELECTRICAL PULSES, Review of scientific instruments, 66(8), 1995, pp. 4301-4304
Two simple devices based on Auston switches are described for optoelec
tronic pulse generation. The first technique uses a partially illumina
ted gap and produces variable pulse durations less than or equal to 21
ps and amplitudes in the 5 V range. The second device benefits from t
he carrier lifetime shortening of proton-implanted GaAs yielding pulse
s of 12 ps and 500 mV. (C) 1995 American Institute of Physics.
