Abstract
A new alkaloid, axinellamide ((1) under bar), was isolated from the ma rine sponge Axinella sp. collected off the coast of Trinidad. The stru cture was determined by 2D-NMR spectroscopy to be -((E,E)-6-methyl-2,4 -octadienyl)-3-pyrrolin-2-one.
