Abstract
We present a one-dimensional model that describes the temperature and density relaxation in the two-phase region of a near-critical pure flu id. In this model, based on the piston model, the mass transport acros s the interface is taken into account. Numerical simulations for pure CO2 are performed. The results of the calculations illustrate the stro ng influence of the interface on the relaxation process. A comparison to the puzzling experimental results recently obtained by Zhong and Me yer confirms the validity of the model.
