Xw. Xu et al., STRESS-CONCENTRATION OF FINITE COMPOSITE LAMINATES WEAKENED BY MULTIPLE ELLIPTIC HOLES, International journal of solids and structures, 32(20), 1995, pp. 3001-3014
Based on the classical plate theory, a finite composite laminated plat
e weakened by multiple elliptical holes is treated as an anigotropic m
ultiple-connected plate. Using the complex potential method in the pla
ne theory of elasticity of an anisotropic body, a series solution to t
he title problem is obtained with the help of the Faber series expansi
on, the conformal mapping and the least squares boundary collocation t
echniques. The effects of the layups, the ellipticity of holes, the re
lative distance between holes, total number of holes and their locatio
ns on the stress concentration are studied in detail. Some useful conc
lusions are drawn.
