Marital migration crisis is a form of crisis that occurs in reaction t
o migration and its impact upon a couple's ability to discover and exp
erience a sense of meaning and purpose in life. Marital migration cris
is often occurs when migration disrupts the couple's traditional metho
ds of discovering, noticing and actualizing the meanings and meaning p
otentials in marital life. Treatment with the couple suffering migrati
on crisis is often effective when the therapist uses primary and secon
dary reflection treatment activities to help the couple notice and mak
e use of the meanings and meaning potentials that have been covered an
d clouded by the migration experience.
