Abstract
A charged and strongly UV-absorbing tag, N-(4-aminobenzoyl)-L-glutamic acid) (ABG), was coupled to oligosaccharides by reductive amination u nder mild conditions. The effectiveness of ABG as a derivatization age nt is shown through the separation of isomaltooligosaccharides from a dextran hydrolysate. The minimum detectable quantities in the subpicom ole range are demonstrated.
