Abstract
In a previous work, we have derived a theory to statistically predict the stability characteristics by statistically estimating tire size of the conductor motion. In this paper, we apply this theory to predict the stability characteristics of rotor windings of a superconducting g enerator. Quench tests of the model rotor for the 70 MW superconductin g generator were conducted as a part of the activities of Super-GM pro ject. The theoretical results are compared with the test results and t he agreement of both the results is reasonably good.
