Abstract
Martin Marietta and Westinghouse, in support of the US ITER Magnet Tec hnology Development work at MIT; are developing designs for a model co il that will test the design concepts and manufacturing methods for th e ITER Central Solenoid Magnets, The US is teamed with Japan in the de velopment of a 13T solenoid magnet that, combined with a separate supe rconducting insert coil, will test full size ITER concepts The paper w ill summarize the design status and-will illustrate the manufacturing methods to be utilized in the fabrication of the US Model Coil Compone nts.
