Abstract
In close cooperation, GEC Alsthom, Alcatel Alsthom Recherche and Elect ricite De France are investigating the technical feasibility and the e conomical impact of low T-c fault current limiters, intended for the F rench HV and EHV electrical grids. The program includes the complete d esign of a 63 kV/1.25 kA/5 k (A) over cap version, experienced on curr ent and voltage models. Extensions to the HV prototype demonstration, and to the EHV fault current limiters, are also discussed in this pape r.
