Since the discovery of the high-T-c superconductors, the main technica
l;interest focusses on Y1Ba2Cu3O7-x (YBCO) and Bi2Sr2Ca1Cu2O8+delta (B
SCCO-2212) because of their high transition temperature and their repr
oducable fabrication, YBCO is mainly used today because of the relativ
e ease of preparation, Thin BSCCO films can be deposited with nearly t
he right stoichiometry, but there are very few publications which repo
rt a transition temperature near the optimum value of 94 K. We report
the optimization of the surface of YBCO thin films. The optimization d
f BSCCO-2212 films with respect to the right oxygen content is present
ed as well as preliminary results for Y-doped BSCCO films.
