Abstract
An understanding of the mechanisms that limit the critical current den sity in the Bi2223/Ag tapes is crucial to their viability in technolog ical and commercial applications. Careful analysis of both transport a nd magnetisation measurements in an applied magnetic field, taken on t he same samples, allow us to explore the regions of the H-T plane wher e either inter- or intra-granular properties dominate.
