Fiber-Reinforced-Superconductors (FRS) of Nb3Sn were prepared using ti
tanium and tantalum fibers. Their superconducting characteristics were
estimated by separating the effects of prestrain from them. The resul
ts have shown that the tantalum fiber functions both as a reinforcemen
t for FRS and as a source that supplies tantalum elements to improve t
he high-field properties of Nb3Sn. The characteristics were. degraded
inversely when a titanium fiber was used. In the case of preparing a F
RS using a titanium-added niobium target, the characteristics improved
. The discrepancy in global pinning force between monofilamentary FRS
and multifilamentary FRS is also shown.
