Ke. Hicks et al., A SIMPLE AND SENSITIVE DNA HYBRIDIZATION ASSAY USED FOR THE ROUTINE DIAGNOSIS OF HUMAN PARVOVIRUS B19 INFECTION, Journal of clinical microbiology, 33(9), 1995, pp. 2473-2475
A dot blot hybridization assay for parvovirus B19 diagnosis was develo
ped by using a PCR-generated probe, digoxigenin labelling, and chemilu
minescence detection. Different labelling techniques and hybridization
solutions were evaluated. From this analysis a protocol was devised f
or routine diagnostic use. The protocol enabled 1 pg of B19 DNA to be
detected. The results of applying this method to 8,369 diagnostic samp
les collected during 1994 and 1995 are given.
