The performance of indigenously produced, electrodeposited Ni-63 sourc
es having 10 mm x 10 mm active area and individually coupled to a plas
tic scintillator has been studied. TL phosphors such as CaF2, CaF2:Dy,
CaF2:Tm, CaF2:Eu, TLD-100 and CaSO4:Dy with Ni-63 have been studied f
or their possible use as check-light sources for testing TL readers. S
tability at ambient temperatures (298-323 K), build-up and decrease of
light output with time have been examined. A preliminary study of the
fluorescent species in the gamma irradiated plastic scintillator has
been made.
