Abstract
Detailed gasometric investigations in the Kara Sea (August - September , 1993) in the 49-th cruise of the R/V ''Dmitriy Mendeleev'' provided to discover a methane plume for the first time in the water column of the Baidara Guba (Bay). Peculiarities of methane content distribution in the mixed zones of marine and Ob and Yenisei river waters were stud ied. Large gradients of methane concentrations in the sediments indica te the presence of hydrocarbon fluxes.
