Abstract
A study has been made of copolymerization of N-vinylsuccinimide with v inyl acetate in aqueous solution at 25-40 degrees C in the presence of the initiating system manganese tris( acetylacetonate)acetic acid. Th e influence of the ratio of the monomers and the components of the ini tiating system on the process kinetics, the composition of resulting c opolymers, and the copolymerization constants has been examined. A fea sibility has been demonstrated of preparing high-molecular-weight N-vi nylsuccinimide homopolymers under these conditions.
