Abstract
A variety of anthracenes type 1, 4-7, 11, 12 and 18, were prepared fro m substituted anthraquinones. The anodic oxidation of a wide range of anthracenes have been studied. The hydrolysis of bisketals 19 and 20 a fforded the monoketal 23 and 1,4-anthraquinone 24.
