Abstract
The title compound, lyl-methyl)-[4,4'-bipyrazolyl]-3,3'(2H,2'H)-dione, C46H38N4O2, isolated in dl form by a diastereoselective reductive dim erization of 4-arylmethylene-3-phenyl-pyrazol-5-one, is a dimeric comp ound with approximate C-2 symmetry. It contains two chiral C atoms hav ing the same configuration and related by the pseudo-twofold axis. The crystal consists of a centrosymmetric crystal packing of both R,R and S,S diastereomers.
