The adsorption isotherms of the binary mixtures of n-hexane + n-hexade
cane and n-hexane + ethanol onto the zeolite NaZSM-5, the activated ca
rbon AS, the silicagel DK3, and two molecular sieves of carbon, were m
easured at 283 K, 298 K and 313 K. The specific free wetting enthalpy,
Phi(2) - Phi(1), was calculated for the explanation of the physico-c
hemical background of the n-hexane + n-hexadecane adsorption. Furtherm
ore, the wetting enthalpy, Delta H - Delta H-1, and wetting entropy,
Delta S - Delta S-1, at average temperature were calculated on the ba
sis of the temperature dependence. The activity coefficients for the b
ulk phase were calculated with the UNIFAC method. Adsorption equilibri
um diagrams were calculated for several systems and compared with the
vapour-liquid equilibrium diagrams. Several influencing factors on ads
orption isotherms were discussed.
