Abstract
This article reviews the development of the technique and application of adsorption calorimetry on fine wires, vacuum-evaporated films and s ingle crystal surfaces from its beginning in the 1930s up to the prese nt. A complete list of the investigated systems and the measured heats of adsorption is presented.
