Abstract
This paper presents recent results from Experiment 859 at the BNL AGS,
focussing on strangeness (K-+/-, Lambda, <(Lambda)over bar>), rare pr
obes ((p) over bar, phi) and two-particle correlations. Highlights of
the paper include an analysis of the centrality dependence of K-+/- yi
elds in terms of the number of participants, a brief review of the cur
rent status of the E859 Lambda and <(Lambda)over bar> data, an analysi
s of the target dependence of (p) over bar yields in terms of (p) over
bar/K- ratio's, results of a re-analysis of ii feed-down contaminatio
n of (p) over bar's, a comparison of the central Si-Au and p-p phi yie
lds through the phi/K- ratio, an extremely preliminary study of the ce
ntrality dependence of the phi line-shape, a summary of the centrality
dependence of two-pi correlation source sizes, and a comparison of re
sults from two-dimensional analyses of the two-pi and two-K+ correlati
on functions.
