S. Abatzis et al., STRANGE PARTICLE-PRODUCTION IN SULFUR-SULFUR INTERACTIONS AT 200 GEV C PER NUCLEON/, Nuclear physics. A, 590(1-2), 1995, pp. 317-331
The WA94 experiment is designed to study the production of strange and
multistrange baryons and antibaryons at central rapidity in sulphur-s
ulphur interactions at 200 GeV/c per nucleon. Particle production rati
os have been obtained in the kinematic region 1.2 less than or equal t
o p(T) less than or equal to 3.0 GeV/c and 2.5 less than or equal to y
(lab) less than or equal to 3.0, and m(T) spectra for Lambda, <(Lambda
)over bar>, Xi(-) and <(Xi)over bar>(-) particles are presented. Preli
minary results on charged kaon production are also discussed, together
with the: status of charged particle identification using the Omega R
ICH.
