We calculate numerically the behavior of a model high-temperature supe
rconductor described by a three-dimensional array of Josephson junctio
ns in the presence of an external magnetic field using dynamical Lange
vin simulations in the extreme type-II case. In particular, the voltag
e generated when an external current is applied, and its dependence on
the external field and thickness of the sample are discussed. We find
that the ab-plane resistivity is well described by a thermal activati
on model, whereas the c-axis resistivity appears for higher temperatur
es. To make connection with recent experiments, the response to nonhom
ogeneous applied currents is also discussed.
