Abstract
The total amount of extractable additives in two rubbers was determine d by solvent extraction in accordance with DIN 53 553. This method was compared with the supercritical fluid extraction (SFE). Additionally the amount of antioxidants in the extracts of the rubbers as detected by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The results of SFE a nd conventional solvent extraction are comparable. SFE has notable adv antages. Therefore, SFE is an alternative method for She quantitative analysis of additives in elastomers.
