Abstract
In the beginning there is shown the present situation in the animal pr oduction in Germany and Europe. The special aspects in the five new co untries are considered as well. The structural development in animal p roduction shows, that farmers have to meet many requirements f.e. from the point of View of farm economics, environmental and building laws. In the following the answers for the agricuitural and market politics as well as farm economics are drawn. In a 7-point-program a way for t he future development is presented.
