Abstract
The authors measure event activities of operations and carriers in a b ehavioral specification by simulating the data flow graph with user-su pplied profiling stimuli. They then estimate a design's switching acti vity and select a module set and schedule that minimizes switching act ivity and meets area and clock-speed constraints. They also estimate t he total capacitance that would switch when the given stimuli is appli ed.
