T. Mizuno et M. Enyo, HYDROGEN ABSORPTION AND HYDRIDE FORMATION IN TI DURING CATHODIC ELECTROLYSIS, Denki Kagaku Oyobi Kogyo Butsuri Kagaku, 63(8), 1995, pp. 719-725
Relationship between kinetics of hydrogen absorption by electrolysis a
nd hydrogen concentration profiles in Ti were investigated by a nuclea
r chemical and other conventional techniques, Hydrogen atoms interact
very intensively with each other at the metal surface. Hydrogen concen
tration profiles were dependent on the conditions of cathodic electrol
ysis. A high level of hydrogen concentration was achieved in prolonged
time, The rate of hydrogen absorption was strongly influenced by the
formation of a layer having high hydrogen concentration, Hydrogen abso
rption kinetics can be divided into two major parts according to hydro
gen concentration in the hydrides.
