Abstract
Antibacterial acid antifungal activities of organoselenium compounds a re well known(1). The antimicrobial activity of organoselenium compoun ds is many times more than the sulphur and oxygen analogs(2) having is osteric elements. However, literature regarding the tellurium analog i s very scanty. In continuation of our work, the synthesis, characteris ation and antimicrobial activity of some newer organoselenium and orga notellurium compounds of the type (ArCO)(2)MCl(2) are reported here.
