Under experimental conditions cyclosporin A has been shown to affect t
he spatial structure of the mitochondrial apparatus of isolated liver
of hibernating ground squirrels and white mongrel rats. Cyclosporin A
inhibits the effect of integration of individual mitochondria via inte
rmitochondrial septa contacts into the united mitochondrial clusters i
n the liver from hibernating ground squirrels its well as from white m
ongrel rats. As for the rats the effect of integration results from in
cubation under experimental conditions.
