Jl. Forest et al., VARIATIONAL MONTE-CARLO CALCULATIONS OF H-3 AND HE-4 WITH A RELATIVISTIC HAMILTONIAN, Physical review. C. Nuclear physics, 52(2), 1995, pp. 576-577
In relativistic Hamiltonians the two-nucleon interaction is expressed
as a sum of <(nu)over tilde>(ij), the interaction action in the P-ij =
0 rest frame, and the ''boost interaction'' delta nu(P-ij) which depe
nds upon the total momentum P-ij and vanishes in the rest frame. The d
elta nu can be regarded as a sum of four terms: delta nu(RE), delta nu
(LC), delta nu(TP), and delta nu(QM); the first three originate from t
he relativistic energy-momentum relation, Lorentz contraction, and Tho
mas precession, while the last is purely quantum. The contributions of
delta nu(RE) and delta nu(LC) have been previously calculated with th
e variational Monte Carlo method for H-3 and He-4. In this paper we re
port the results of similar calculations for the contributions of delt
a nu(TP) and delta nu(QM). These are found to be rather small.
