Abstract
Two approaches to modeling of average partial widths of gamma transiti ons connecting excited nuclear levels are discussed. The first one is based on calculations of thermal photoabsorption cross sections, the s econd on calculations of thermal-radiation rates. Limitations of the f inite-temperature approach are studied.
