Investigation in the system Ag-Ge-S at 400 degrees C revealed the stab
le existence of three ternary phases with characteristic colors: Ag4Ge
4S9 (brick yellow), Ag13Ge10S24 (coffee brown) and the Ag5+xGe4-xS9 se
ries (bile green). A detailed scanning of the pseudobinary Ag2S-GeS2 j
oin across the ternary field from 200 degrees C up to 1000 degrees C c
onfirmed three congruently melting compounds and four eutectics, all a
bove 600 degrees C. A 400 degrees C ternary isotherm is given.
