Abstract
An improved multislice formalism is outlined which considers elastic, inelastic, and phonon scattering. As typical examples filtered and unf iltered diffraction patterns of a thick crystal of silicon and a Then diffractogram of an amorphous carbon foil are calculated and discussed .
