Abstract
The symmetry relations of crystal shape amplitudes of the regular pent agonal dodecahedron and the icosahedron are studied. Graphs of the cen tral cross-sections of the crystal shape amplitudes of these noncrysta llographic polyhedra are calculated along the twofold, threefold, and fivefold symmetry axes. In addition, computer simulated crystal shape factor maps are represented for these main symmetry directions.
